Surnames: HITT, LOW, LOWE, LOE, FEWALL, FEWELL, ROBINSON Classification: Query There is erroneous information being circulated regarding Judith Hitt's dau Susannah. She is being referred to as Mary. Judith had a few daughters, two of them being Susannah and Mary. Both are individuals..distinct personalities. Judith's husband John Low's will is below for the rest of the known children's names.

Judith/Judah HITT m. John LOW/LOWE/LOE date unknown. But this land transaction found on genforum.com LOW surname board gives a clue. In the Fauquier County VA Deed Book 1759-1778, pages 130-132, it mentions a lease between a Harman Hitt of Leeds Parish and a John Low of same "for his natural life and lives of Judah Low, his wife, and William Low, his son - recorded March 27, 1775. From John Gott's book of Fauquier marriage records: James Fewell & Mary Lowe 29 Dec 1794; bondsman, daughter of John & Judith. Alcock's book, "Fauquier Families,1759-1799" spells her name as Low in the marriage bond with James Fewell. She is described as daughter of John and Judith Low, and bondsman was William Robinson. Alcock's book has James Fewell first appearing in the Fauquier tax list in 1792, when the tax was paid by James Mays. In 1796, his tax was paid by William Horner.
