This Deed made this 2nd day of November 1896 between Albert A. Pearson and Harriet J. his wife of the Co. of Fauq.

of the first part and J. W. Shackelford, J. W. Kern and C. M. Smith trustees of Marshall Public School District in the said Co.

of the second part, witness that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to them in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the aforesaid Albert A. Pearson and Harriet J. his wife as hereby bargain and sell

all of that certain tract of land on the South E side of the County Road from Marshall to Orlean in said County

adj. the lands of said grantors and George W. Davis, and bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at (1) a planted stone, adj. Davis, and on South East side of said road, and near Thumb Run Church, thence on South side of road, s. 39 1/2 W 12.56 poles to (2)a planted stone, thence S. 66 1/4 E. 13.35 poles to (3) a planted stone in Davis line. thence with Davis' line N. 15 314 W 15.54 poles to the beginning. Containing one half acre, be the same more or less. For a more particular description of said land reference is hereby made to plat and survey made of said lot by E. S. Edmonds. Oct. 17, 1896 hereunto annexed and made a part and parcel of this deed. The said lot being a part of a tract of land conveyed to Harriet Royston by Gray Carroll & ux. by deed recorded in the clerks office of Fauq. Co., and of same tract devised to said Harriet Pearson, wife as aforesaid by Harriet Royston, by her will dated 20th August 1896 and recorded in Will Book 1896-8 pg 78. To have and to hold the said tract of land unto them the said Shackelford, Kern and Smith, trustees, as aforesaid and to their successors and assigns forever and the said Pearson and wife parties of the first part hereby warranty generally the title of said lot, hereby conveyed witness following signatures and seals.

I, Wm H. Lake, a Justice of the Peace in and for the county of Fauquier in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Albert Ashby Pearson and Harriet J. Pearson his wife whose names are signed to the writing above, bearing date the 2nd day of November 1896 have acknowledged the same before me and in my County aforesaid. Given under my hand this 27 day of November 1896.
